Chatstep paedophile distributed indecent images of children for two years
An East Peckham paedophile has been jailed after he used internet chatrooms to view and share indecent images of children.
Martyn Lodge of Old Road used website Chatstep to discuss the sexual abuse of children with other users.
The 62-year-old was arrested on July 6, 2017, after Kent Police searched his home.
A laptop was seized which had been used to access indecent images, some of which were in the most serious category, said police.
Lodge later admitted to officers he had been viewing, downloading and distributing indecent images of children for around two years.
At May to three counts of making indecent images of children and a further charge of distributing an indecent image of a child.
On Tuesday, March 13 Lodge was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.
He will also be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years and was placed on the sex offenders’ register.
