Scottish paedophile convinced 10-year-old girl they were boyfriend and girlfriend

A sex beast convinced a young schoolgirl they were boyfriend and girlfriend before subjecting her to a horrific sex attack.

Corey Urquhart, 21, groomed the 10-year-old in the lead-up to the sick ordeal, described in court as “a millimetre from rape”.

He was caught red-handed with the girl at a flat in Dundee on April 1 last year.

The creep then told the girl SHE needed to come up with an “explanation” for why they were found in bed together.

He was locked up today for three years after a judge blasted him and said he had “deprived the girl of her innocence”.

A three-day trial at Dundee Sheriff Court heard the girl giving a detailed account of the attack she suffered at Urquhart’s hands.

Remorseless Urquhart denied the charges despite being caught by witnesses with his trousers down alongside the partially dressed girl before he could slam the door shut.

DNA from the girl was later found on his underwear, linking him to the crime.

Prosecutors also told a jury she had the “adult vocabulary” of sexual terms that were “consistent with an adult having taught her these words”.

But Urquhart claimed the girl had “totally made these allegations up”.

Addressing the jury and urging them to convict Urquhart, fiscal depute Eilidh Robertson said: “What motive would she have to lie about this, she was 10 years old at the time.

“She was obsessed with Corey, she loved him, she doted on him. We have heard the devastating impact that this case has had on her life over the last year. Why would she do it?

“I suggest to you that this is a case in which the accused has clearly groomed the girl over a number of months.

“Sending each other texts full of love hearts. Being upset at the idea of being separated. Sending a note with a phone number in a heart-shaped tin.

“I suggest it sounds exactly like a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship, which is exactly how she said she saw her relationship with the accused and how he described it to her.”

Urquhart, of Aberlour, Aberdeenshire, denied a charge under the Sexual Offences Scotland Act on indictment.

A jury at Dundee Sheriff Court took just two hours and 12 minutes to find him guilty of an amended charge.

Jailing Urquhart, Sheriff Alastair Brown said: “You were quite literally about a millimetre from rape. A 10-year-old child cannot give any kind of consent.

“Your offence was aggravated because you tried to put the whole responsibility over to the little girl – you told her to come up with an explanation.

“She has been left in a state of anxiety and she is terrified that you will kidnap her.

“You deprived her of her sexual innocence.”

Urquhart was also placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Paedophile who groomed 10-year-old girl facing prison

A pervert who groomed a ten-year-old girl until she was “besotted” with him before subjecting her to a depraved sex attack is facing jail.

Corey Urquhart groomed the girl into thinking they were “boyfriend and girlfriend” – despite her being in primary school and him being 20.

On April 1 last year he struck, subjecting the girl to a sex attack at a flat in Dundee.

A three-day trial at Dundee Sheriff Court heard the girl giving a detailed account of the attack.

Prosecutors said she had the “adult vocabulary” of sexual terms that were “consistent with an adult having taught her these words”.

But Urquhart claimed the girl had “totally made these allegations up”.

A jury rejected his plea and now Urquhart faces a lengthy jail term when he appears in court again next month for sentencing.

Addressing the jury, fiscal depute Eilidh Robertson said: “Do you think she would have been so detailed in her description if she had been making the whole thing up?

“She was obsessed with Corey, she loved him, she doted on him. We have heard the devastating impact that this case has had on her life over the last year.

“I suggest to you that this is a case in which the accused has clearly groomed the girl over a number of months.

“It sounds exactly like a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship, which is exactly how she said she saw her relationship with the accused and how he described it to her.”

Urquhart, 21, of Blackhillock Farm, Aberlour, Aberdeenshire, denied a charge under the Sexual Offences Scotland Act on indictment.

But a jury at Dundee Sheriff Court took just two hours and 12 minutes to find him guilty of an amended charge.

Sheriff Alastair Brown deferred sentence until next month for social work background reports and released Urquhart on bail meantime.

He was also placed on the sex offenders register in the interim.
