Man of 27 had sex with girl, 14
A hotel worker has been jailed after admitting a six-month sexual relationship with an under-aged girl.
Andrew Marshall, 27, took the girl back to his Trafalgar Road flat in Scarborough and had sex with her on at least 15 occasions, York Crown Court was told on Monday.
Marshall, who since the abuse has been living in Allerton Road, Bradford, appeared for sentencing, having previously admitted 10 charges of sexual activity with a child between March and September this year.
Mr Mitcheson said that the affair started with suggestive and sexually explicit text messages between the pair, but soon developed into a full sexual relationship.
Jailing Marshall for two years and nine months, the Recorder of York, Judge Stephen Ashurst, said that it was obvious from what he had read that Marshall had led “a promiscuous sexual life” of late with women of both his own age and considerably older.
He added that the law was there to protect children from themselves until they were of sufficient age to make informed decisions of their own.
Marshall was also disqualified from working with children and placed on the Sexual Offenders Register indefinitely.
