Rawmarsh man jailed for 17 years for raping teenager
A dangerous sex offender has been jailed for 17 years for raping a schoolgirl.
Anthony Payling (33) of Central Drive, Rawmarsh, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court following a three-day trial.
He was also accused of kissing the 14-year-old girl, touching her intimately and dancing inappropriately with her in a pub.
He denied all of these, calling the claims “fabricated” and “ridiculous”.
But jurors found him guilty of twice raping the girl in 2016, for which he received two 15-year jail terms, to be served concurrently.
Judge David Dixon added two years to the term under Section 226A of the Criminal Justice Act, which allows extensions for “dangerous” offenders.
