A paedophile who told a young girl he was giving her a sex education lesson as he carried out his vile attack has been jailed.
Raymond Johnson groped the nine-year-old over and under her bra and knickers.
She later told police how she froze at his touch, and was told by him not to tell anyone of his depraved behaviour.
But a court heard that despite being deeply affected by what happened, she did eventually report Johnson to police.
Another victim also came forward and today at Maidstone Crown Court, the 60-year-old pervert, formerly of Pepys Way, Rochester, was jailed for three-and-a-half years.
He pleaded guilty to two offences of indecent assault, one dating back almost 40 years.
The court heard he sexually assaulted the other girl, aged 11, by putting his hand up her skirt, rubbing her thigh and then pulling at her knicker elastic while she was sitting on his lap.
Prosecutor Nina Ellin said: “She recalls squirming as a result and moved off his lap. She was in a state of shock.
“She knew what had happened was wrong but didn’t know how to cope or address the situation.”
Of Johnson’s abuse of the younger girl, Miss Ellin added: “He told her she was going to learn about sex education.
“He leant over her and began to touch her breasts over and under her clothing and touched her private parts both over and under her clothing.”
When arrested in July 2016, the former machine operator denied the allegations and said he had not ‘laid a finger’ on them.
Jailing Johnson, Judge Jeremy Carey said the impact on the two victims had been significant, and referring to one sex attack he added: “It was not a sex education introduction but a vile assault of a sickening kind on a little girl of which you should be thoroughly ashamed and disgusted.
“The offending is more serious because there are two offences, and offences involving little children upon whom there has been very considerable consequences as a result, and which this court does not for a moment underestimate.”
Upon release from prison Johnson will be required to sign the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.
