Chaddesden pervert snared by ‘paedophile hunters’ posing as 14-year-old girls
‘Paedophile hunters’ snared a Chaddesden pervert who thought he was talking online to two 14-year-old girls and tried to arrange to meet them for sex.
The vigilantes posed under pseudonyms to make contact with Dean Dunhill.
The 30-year-old started to send both of the “girls” sexually explicit messages over Facebook in which he asked if they liked “naughty pictures”.
In both cases the so-called hunters replied “you do know I am only 14 don’t you” but unabated he sent them both sexually explicit photographs of himself and asked them for some of them in return.
And he also exchanged messages with both of them telling saying he would pay for a hotel and that that sexual activity could take place between them.
Jailing Dunhill, of Wiltshire Road, for 16 months Judge Peter Cooke said: “That you were in an ongoing relationship did not stop you behaving in this predatory way.
“This was obvious grooming behaviour and the real aggravating feature here is the level of persistence in cajoling the girls into trying to get them to do what you wanted.
“And although the people behind the identities were not real girls, they were intended targets and victims.”
He pleaded guilty to the offences and along with the jail term was placed on the sex offender’s register for 10 years.
