Pervert, 34, pestered teenage girl for sex – and got her to perform sex act on him
Pervert Steven McCready has been jailed after he engaged in sexual activity with a teenage girl.
The 34-year-old kissed and touched his victim when she was aged 14 and made it clear he wanted full sex with her.
He bought her alcohol which made her more relaxed and asked her to perform a sex act on him. He also bought her gifts – including perfume and jewellery – as he continued to pester her for full intercourse.
Prosecutor Adam Watkins told the court: “The severity of the sexual activity increased over time. She, at his request, performed a sex act on him. He continued to pester her for full sexual intercourse. They also exchanged, at his request, naked images of each other.”
In a victim statement, the teenager – who cannot be named – says the offending affected her confidence and left her battling depression.
McCready, of Keynsham Walk, Smallthorne, pleaded guilty to three offences of sexual activity with a child. He also admitted a charge of sexual communication with a child but that plea has now been vacated.
Recorder Julian Taylor made McCready the subject of a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a 10-year restraining order. He was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
The judge told McCready: “You were considerably older than the complainant.
“You wanted to have full penetrative sexual activity with her. But she did not want that and she consented to performing oral sex on you on one occasion to fob you off.
“These are serious offences. Alcohol was used and no doubt that did facilitate the behaviour.”
