A man who ‘liked’ two paedophile-hunting groups on Facebook has been found guilty of subjecting a schoolgirl to eight years of abuse.
Craig Guy, 38 and from Washington, Tyne and Wear, has been sentenced to a total of 15 years behind bars at Teesside Crown Court yesterday.
Guy was found guilty of six counts of rape of a child and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The charges relate to offences against a schoolgirl on various dates between 2006 and 2014.
Guy also received a sexual harm prevention order and was placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
Guy’s Facebook profile shows that he ‘liked’ Dark Justice and Predator Exposure, two groups which purport to target paedophiles.
The groups which aim to track down sex offenders in Yorkshire and the North-East, and have both gained thousands of followers online.
