Oldham man plied girl, 15, with drugs and alcohol before sexually abusing her
A man who plied a young girl with drugs and alcohol before sexually abusing her at his flat in Oldham has been jailed.
Jordan West (23/09/1990) of Hollis Road, Coventry was sentenced earlier today, 30 November 2017, at Minshull Street Crown Court to six years and three months in prison after being found guilty of three counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of supplying cannabis.
He also received a five-year sexual harm prevention order and will remain on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
West met his then 15-year-old victim in 2015 during a chance meeting outside McDonald’s in Oldham town centre.
After the girl had asked him for a lighter, he engaged her in conversation before inviting her and a friend back to his friend’s flat where he plied them with drugs and alcohol. He would then go on to sexually abuse the 15-year-old.
West’s grooming and abuse of the girl would continue throughout May 2015 until he told her not to come back.
Detective Constable Diana Dyer-Barron of GMP’s Phoenix Tameside CSE team said: “Jordan West knew full well how old his victim was and that what he was doing was wrong, yet he continued his campaign of abuse without showing a shred of remorse.
“His abuse dominated a period of time in this girl’s life, preventing her from enjoying activities that any 15-year-old girl should be able to participate in. This had a massive impact on her life at a time when she was at a vulnerable age and still developing as a person.
