Brighton strip club owner jailed for paying girl for sex
A STRIP club owner has been jailed for paying a vulnerable girl for sex.
Kenneth McGrath, owner of the Pussycat Club in Brighton, had sex with the 17-year-old on his yacht in Majorca in 2015.
McGrath, 61, was seeking a girl to host hen parties on his boat on the Spanish island, and the teenager was recommended to him by a mutual friend.
However, when the youngster arrived for ‘work’ on McGrath’s yacht, the predator took advantage of her and forced her to engage in sexual activity.
The businessman, of St Martin’s Place, Brighton, even created a document alleging her willingness to partake in the sex as part of her employment contract.
McGrath “took advantage of her isolation and vulnerability” to coerce her into a sexual act with him.
He was convicted of paying for the sexual services of a child on November 10, and was sentenced to three years behind bars on Thursday.
McGrath will be a registered sex offender for life, and was handed a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).
The order prevents him from providing any massage services or taking images of any girls under the age of 18 without parental or guardian permission.
He is also not allowed to be involved with any employment that would bring him into contact with any girls under 18.
McGrath cannot possess any digital image-taking device unless it is available for inspection by police.
He cannot contact the victim either.
The SHPO is in place until further court order.
McGrath was found not guilty of two counts of sexual assault against the same girl.
