East Kilbride paedophile caged for repeated sexual abuse of boy, 14
An East Kilbride paedophile has been caged for 19 months for repeatedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy.
Sean Kelly, 49, admitted meeting with his victim at an address in Glasgow’s Kinning Park and elsewhere where he engaged in sexual activity with the boy.
The offence took place on various occasions between January 1 and July 5, 2015.
Kelly was accused of a further charge of communicating with the teenager on various occasions between September 2014 and July 2015 with the intention to engage in unlawful sexual activity.
However, he denied this charge which was accepted by the prosecutor.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Kelly’s defence agent told the court that his client has mobility issues and had pled guilty to spare the child from having to go through the trauma of giving evidence in court.
Kelly, of Ivanhoe in St Leonards, was sentenced to one year and seven months in prison and told he will spend a further nine months on license upon his release.
Sheriff Potten also ordered him to be put on the sex offenders’ register for a period of 10 years.
