Dundee man with indecent videos of girls as young as three ordered to attend Tay Project

A man who was caught with indecent images of children on his computer is to be supervised for three years.

Daniel Francis-Lowe, 29, of Arbroath Road in Dundee, was found to have 31 videos, with a running time of more than 11 hours, depicting indecent images of girls aged between three and 15.

Twenty four of the videos were category A, the most explicit category.

Francis-Lowe admitted that between April 11, 2011 and December 19, 2016, at 89 Arbroath Road, he possessed indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children and that between April 11, 2011 and June 10, 2016, at the same location, he took or permitted to be taken or made indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children.

Depute fiscal Trina Sinclair told the court police acting on a search warrant were met by the accused at the flat and he told them: “There will be stuff on my computer.”

She said most of the rooms in the house were completely inaccessible due to extensive build up of rubbish and food waste.

Following a search his computer tower, hard drive and usb were recovered and found to contain the images.

Francis-Lowe was placed on supervision for three years, he was ordered to attend the Tay Project and placed on the sex offenders register for three years.

The Tay Project is a specialist project, delivered by Dundee City Council on behalf of the Tayside Criminal Justice Partnership, providing services in relation to convicted sex offenders.

He was also banned from owning more than one mobile telephone or laptop and no contact with anyone under the age of 17.
