A Folketone paedophile used a fake social media profile to lure his 11-year-old victim into sending him explicit images.
George Russell Giltrap, of Station Road, Lyminge, posed as a 16-year-old girl on Facebook and made contact with the child.
He admitted inciting the young girl into sending him topless images, including sending her a picture of a sex toy and explicit messages.
The 71-year-old was arrested at his home in March this year by officers after the Paedophile Online Investigation Team discovered information about his sick crimes.
When Giltrap was arrested he admitted to the offences, which he had carried out under a fake profile.
Officers seized his mobile phone and laptop and he was charged with making indecent photographs of a child and three counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity
He pleaded guilty and was jailed for four years on Friday (November 17) at Canterbury Crown Court.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Mark Agnew said: “Giltrap clearly poses a significant risk to children and I’m just thankful he admitted to his crimes and spared the victim the ordeal of a trial.
“He will now serve time in prison for what he did.
“This behaviour is sickening and inexcusable and we are determined to protect children and other vulnerable people from becoming victims.
