Pervert avoids prison after grooming multiple ‘children’ online
A disgusting pervert that groomed what he believed were young girls online has avoided a prison sentence
Scott Jones, 23 of Knottingley appeared at Leeds Crown Court where he admitted a number of charges relating to sexual offences against children
The court heard that Jones who had claimed he worked with disabled kids to gain the children’s trust had contacted over the internet what he believed were three girls aged 11, 12 and 14 years old.
Fortunately the girls were decoys set up by online child protection team ‘Dark Light’
Jones sent highly sexually explicit messages to the decoys in the hope of engaging in sexual activity with them. However, he was exposed by the team and was arrested by West Yorkshire police who used Dark Lights evidence to convict him
Jones was handed a 36 Month community order
He was told that he must attend a sex offenders programme, and a sexual harm prevention order was put in place to restrict his internet use and contact with children
Jones was also placed on the sex offenders register.
