Man with indecent images of children and animals avoids jail
A man who admitted possessing indecent images of children and animals has avoided a jail sentence.
Scott McMinn, of Park Street in Madeley, was given a three year community order at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Friday.
He admitted to two charges of making indecent images of children, possessing indecent images of a child and possessing extreme pornographic images of animals, at Telford Magistrates last month.
Howard Searle, prosecuting, said: “Police had information that this defendant was in possession of indecent images of children. He told the police he had stumbled on them and deleted them. After analysis he said he was foolish and naive.”
Defending McMinn, Paul Smith told the court other offences involving a lot more indecent images were not given a custodial sentence.
McMinn, aged 44, was given a three year community order, a five year sexual harm prevention order and was made to sign the sex offenders register.
