Rapist got 12-year-old pregnant after raping her multiple times

A rapist who got a 12-year-old pregnant after raping her multiple times has been jailed for JUST two years and ten months.

Gary Dryden, 19, made contact with the girl using Facebook in September 2016, before meeting up with her and raping her at least seven times near a sports centre in Kilwinning.

Judge Lord Burns told Dryden, from Irvine, Ayrshire: “You have pled guilty to the rape of a young child when she was only 12 and she became pregnant.

“You purposely contacted this child and developed a sexual relationship with her.”

Lord Burns said that but for his early plea he would have jailed Dryden for three and a half years.

The High Court in Glasgow heard that Dryden is assessed as being at a high risk of re-offending.

Lord Burns intends to impose a Sexual Offences Prevention Order on him which could mean among other things Dryden’s computer use being monitored by the police.

The court heard that Dryden first raped the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at a secluded area near a sports centre in Kilwinning, North Ayrshire.

The “scared” girl later discovered she was having his baby and after speaking with her parents and had an abortion.

Dryden pled guilty to raping her.

The girl was 12 when she received a friend request from Dryden on Facebook.

Prosecutor Gillian Ross said he was “unknown to her” at the time but they exchanged messages and agreed to see each other.

It was during one meeting Dryden suggested they go to a quiet spot close to a sports centre in Kilwinning.

DNA tests confirmed Dryden was the father.

When questioned by police, Dryden admitted raping the schoolgirl multiple times.

Ayrshire teen raped by beast when she was 12 came face to face with attacker hours after he was freed on bail

A RAPE victim aged 13 came face to face with her attacker just hours after he was convicted and freed on bail.

The traumatised girl — made pregnant by beast Gary Dryden, 18 — spotted him staring at her in a shop on the day he admitted seven sex assaults against her.

But cops were powerless to act as he was already in the store, in Irvine, when she walked in.

The victim’s family revealed her ordeal as they blasted a court decision to release Dryden ahead of his sentencing next month.

Her dad said: “How do you explain to a girl of 13 that her rapist is free to walk the streets? He’s a shameless beast — he knew she’d be there.

“He shouldn’t be allowed to terrorise her, she’s suffered enough.”

Her mum added: “She was saying, ‘Why is he out? Why wasn’t he put in jail?’ She’s so scared she’ll bump into him again.

“She’s not a child any more because of him.”

We told in October how Dryden pled guilty at the High Court in Glasgow to raping the girl in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, last year when she was 12.

She had a termination after discovering she was expecting a tot.

Her mum said: “It would’ve been a constant reminder of the rape.”

Police said of the shop incident: “Officers were informed about this sighting of the accused. They gave advice and assistance.”

Irvine student got 12-year-old pregnant after raping her

A student got a 12 year-old girl pregnant after raping her, a court heard.

Gary Dryden had initially contacted the child on Facebook in September 2016.

The 18 year-old later had sex with the youngster at a secluded area near a sports centre in Kilwinning, North Ayrshire.

The “scared” girl went on to discover she was having his baby – but went through the ordeal of an abortion after speaking with her parents.

Dryden could now face jail after he today pled guilty to a rape charge at the High Court in Glasgow.

The teenager, of Irvine, North Ayrshire, had bail continued pending sentencing in December.

The girl had not long turned 12 when she received a friend request from Dryden on Facebook.

Prosecutor Gillian Ross said he was “unknown to her” at the time – but they exchanged messages and agreed to see each other.

It was during one meeting Dryden suggested they go to a quiet spot close to a sports centre in Kilwinning.

The court heard he told the girl he wanted to have sex with her – she initially thought he was “joking”.

However, they did although the youngster did not tell anyone what happened.

Miss Ross then explained: “A few days after the first incident, they met up.

“This pattern of contact continued and they had sexual intercourse on at least seven occasions always at the same location.”

The 12 year-old later found out she was expecting a baby.

The prosecutor told the hearing: “She was scared and initially disclosed to a friend that she was pregnant.

“Her parents became involved and, on November 28 last year, she underwent a medical termination in hospital.”

It emerged she was almost 12 weeks pregnant at the time.

DNA tests confirmed Dryden had been the father.

Police later quizzed the teenager and he admitted having sex with the schoolgirl.

Miss Ross said: “He accepted that he started to think she was 14 because of ‘how young she looked’.”

The court heard Dryden had been a student at the time at Ayrshire College in Kilwinning. It is not know what he was studying.

Judge Lord Burns deferred sentencing for reports.
