Pervert facing jail after admitting viewing indecent images of children
A man has been warned he could face a jail term after admitting downloading hundreds of images of child abuse.
Graham Richard Pidgley, 51, of Victoria Terrace, Henstridge, was charged with three offences all said to have been committed at Bruton over a nine-year period when he appeared in the dock before Judge David Ticehurst in Taunton Crown Court this morning. (October 9.)
He admitted that, between May 9, 2007 and August 5, 2016 at Bruton, he made indecent photographs of children, namely 191 images and movies of a child in the most serious Category A.
He also admitted with making 111 indecent images and videos of a child in Category B, and a further 306 indecent photos and videos of a child in Category C between the same dates.
Pidgley spoke only to confirm his name and enter his pleas during the short hearing.
Adjourning the case so a pre-sentence report could be created, Judge Ticehurst warned him that he could be facing a prison sentence.
“In adjourning the case for this report, you should not be under any illusions,” he said. “All options will remain open for the judge who sentences you – including an immediate prison sentence.”
Pidgley was also ordered to sign the sex offender’s register and will be back before the court for sentencing on December 5.
