Divorced man in his 40s poses as teenager to get Leicester girl to send naked pics
A divorced man posed as a teenager in an attempt to persuade a Leicester girl to send him naked pictures.
Jaspal Hir pretended to be 17 to try and get the 14-year old to send the images.
He was only caught out when the girl’s mum found social media messages from Hir on the girl’s phone.
The girl didn’t send any images and police managed to trace the messages
He was arrested at his home in Bedford Road, Longford, Coventry, in November, and his phone, computer and some DVDs were seized.
When he was interviewed, he said he was divorced and did meet women online, but denied knowing or communicating with the girl, or having any sexual interest in children.
But when his phone and computer were examined, officers found he had also been involved in similar conversations with a second 14-year-old girl, with requests for her to send him images and videos of a sexual nature – although she did not do so.
Among the DVDs the police found images of extreme pornography depicting acts of bestiality.
At Warwick Crown Court Hir, aged 42, pleaded guilty to two charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two of possessing images of extreme pornography.
He was sentenced to six months in prison suspended for two years and ordered to take part in a sex offender’s treatment programme.
The judge, Recorder Anthony Lowe, also ordered him to register as a sex offender for five years and to pay £535 costs.
