Pervert caught by Dark Justice with a condom in his pocket
A pervert was snared by paedophile hunters when he turned up to meet a 14-year-old schoolgirl for sex.
Ross Wilcox believed he had been sending explicit messages to an underage girl he met over adult dating site Tagged – but was exposed by Dark Justice.
When the 30-year-old turned up at a Metro station to meet the youngster in Newcastle, while carrying a condom, he was confronted by members of the online child protection group
Wilcox, of Cramlington, Northumberland, told the paedophile hunters: “I’ve done nowt, please.”
He refused to speak to police but later admitted a charge of attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
Prosecutor Neil Pallister told the court Wilcox had sent a message to a fake profile which had been set up by Dark Justice, under the name Sarah.
The conversation quickly moved on to private, graphic, WhatsApp messages, despite him being told Sarah was just 14.
Newcastle Crown Court heard Wilcox said in one message “I would be dirty if you wanted me to” and later discussed potential positions if she wanted to “try sex”.
Within four days of Wilcox getting into conversation with the fake profile in February, a meeting was arranged and he was arrested.
Recorder Simon Kealey sentenced Wilcox to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered him to sign the sex offenders register.
