Pervert groomed and abused young girl

A paedophile has been jailed after he groomed and sexually abused a 10-year-old girl

Argos worker Graham Kelvin John Bailey from Northampton, appeared at Northampton crown court where he was found guilty of a number of child sexual abuse related offences which included:

  • Sexual assault of a child under 13

  • Causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity

  • Two counts of meeting a child following sexual grooming

  • Three counts of making indecent images of children

The court was told that Bailey had groomed the child which culminated in a sexual assault.

After his arrest, indecent images of children were found on his computer

The case had taken over four years to reach court.

Bailey was sentenced to a total of 8 years which comprised of a four year extended prison sentence with four years on licence

He was told that he must register as a sex offender for life and was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

In August 2015, Bailey also contacted and groomed online what he believed was a 13 year old girl.

Bailey sent various explicit messages to the child and arranged to meet her.

When he arrived at Wellingborough train station, he was met by an online child protection team ‘Chris Fear’, who told him that he had in-fact been grooming one of their undercover decoys.

Police were called and Bailey was arrested.

Both cases were dealt with by the same judge at the same time
