Pervert nurse struck off after being caught with 800 images of sickening child sex abuse

Nurse found with more than 800 images of child sex abuse has been struck off.

Richard Cormack was working at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary when his sickening haul was discovered.

Police searched his flat in the city and found pictures and more than 600 indecent videos of children on two computer hard drives.

He was banned from practising as a nurse following a Nursing and Midwifery Council hearing.

The ruling said: “Whilst the panel has no evidence that patients were harmed in the past in terms of Mr Cormack’s clinical practice, the nature of the conviction and the number of images involved suggests that Mr Cormack has a sexual interest in children.”

Cormack’s vile stash was discovered in December 2015.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court in August last year, the 56-year-old admitted one charge and was given a community payback order.

Cormack was ordered to complete 275 hours of unpaid work and he was placed on the sex offenders’ register for three years.

The pervert was working in the outpatient dialysis unit of ERI when the child porn was found.

NHS Lothian said Cormack was suspended immediately after being charged and no longer works for the health board.
