Sex offender is jailed for six years
A MACCLESFIELD man who sexually assaulted a schoolgirl and filmed two others naked for his own pleasure, has been jailed for six years.
Kevin Terence Luxton, of Buxton Road, Macclesfield, was branded “an arrogant, opinionated young man displaying the most selfish sexual motives” by Judge Roger Dutton during his sentencing at Knutsford Crown Court.
The 28-year-old was jailed yesterday (Tuesday, June 3) for five years for having sexual activity with a child, with concurrent sentences of two years for indecent assault, 18 months for making and possessing indecent photos of a child, and six months for voyeurism, including video taping girls.
He had been found guilty by a jury last month after pleading not guilty, and yesterday he was given a 12-month sentence, to be served separately, for intimidating a witness due to give evidence.
In sentencing Luxton, Judge Dutton added: “You were an adult. You should have taken a responsible position.
“Young women need to be protected.”
Speaking after the verdict, the father of one of the victims said he was satisfied with the sentence. “We feel like we at last have closure – this has been around our necks so long. It has been devastating for my daughter,” he said.
Luxton was disqualified from working with children for five years and put on the sex offenders register, meaning he must report to the police, giving his name and address and any change of circumstances, for the rest of his life.
