Convicted paedophile jailed over poison pen letter campaign against own mum
A paedophile who waged a poison pen campaign against his mother and her partner was jailed for eight months yesterday.
Joseph Carson sent letters containing vile lies to friends and neighbours of his mum Janet Carson, 80, of Erskine, after she started a relationship with a man, 78, in 2014.
His trial heard he feared his inheritance was being put at risk.
Sentencing Carson, Paisley sheriff Seith Ireland branded him “delusional”.
The 59-year-old, of Machrihanish, Argyll, was also given a five-year non-harassment order, preventing him from contacting his mother and Ronald, who have now split.
Carson spent three-and-a-half years in jail after he was convicted in 1992 of sexually abusing a girl.
