Paedophile escapes jail sentence
A former Salisbury man who had almost 100 indecent images of children on electronic devices has escaped jail.
Julian Timothy Darch pleaded guilty to ten counts of making and possessing illegal images of children
Officers leading the investigation say some were described as Category A images – deemed as the most severe type of images.
The 55 year old, who now lives in Wood Lane, Chippenham, which is very close to Charter Primary School, was given a community order and made to sign the sex offenders register for five years.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of £250, a victim surcharge of £85 and Crown Prosecution Costs of £85.
Darch was found to have a large number of indecent images on his computers – some of these are described as the most serious and graphic images and videos when categorised.
