Braintree man who used family’s laptop to access indecent images of children was spared jail
A man who used his family’s laptop to access indecent images and movies of children has been spared jail.
Anthony Scott Hughes, 41, from Braintree, appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court today (Monday, August 22) after pleading guilty to the possession of category A indecent images of children and also the possession of a class A drug.
Laura Kenyon, prosecuting, told the court that the home of Hughes’ parents was searched by police and they found a black Toshiba laptop, used by the family, which contained two category A indecent movies of children and cartoon images depicting child pornography.
On another Toshiba laptop, belonging to Hughes, search items were found that were indicative of child sexual abuse
This included search items related to the abuse of a child of ten-years-old that was searched 23 times.
