Pervert hijacked milk float and knocked down schoolboy as he drove away
A pervert attacked a milkman and hijacked his milk float before mowing down a schoolboy in a hit-and-run.
Convicted sex offender Alexander Seddon assaulted Harrison Dairies driver Kevin Hynes then commandeered his vehicle.
He then drove down Burleigh Mews in Everton and hit a 13-year-old victim at the junction with Robson Street.
Seddon and an unknown man ran away from the crash, leaving the seriously injured boy lying in the road.
The child suffered a head injury in the collision, shortly after 8am on June 19 this year, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police launched a manhunt and arrested Seddon, who was initially charged with robbery, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
The 31-year-old, of Paley Close, Anfield, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today via video link from HMP Liverpool.
He admitted charges of assault, aggravated vehicle taking, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, plus failing to stop.
Judge Robert Trevor-Jones adjourned the case until September 1, when Seddon will be produced at court, and remanded him in custody.
Seddon was previously jailed for 12 months after sexually assaulting a woman who visited his home on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.
Prosecutors said the victim went to see him at his home after he was handed a community sentence for driving matters.
The traumatised victim suffered sleepless nights, underwent counselling and said she had significant “demons to overcome”.
Seddon, who admitted sexual assault, later described how embarrassed and sorry he was.
His previous convictions included violent assaults, drug-related offences, robbery and theft.
He was jailed last July and told to sign on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
