Pervert filmed himself sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl
A pervert who filmed himself sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl at houses in East Wemyss and Leven has been jailed for five years.
Paul Nicol lured the girl into taking a bath with him and recorded the sick act on a hidden camera.
And, at the High Court in Edinburgh last week, Judge Lord Wheatley told Nicol: ”You clearly exploited the girl for your own purposes.”
At an earlier hearing Nicol (39), of Glenrothes, admitted indecency with the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on three occasions between November 2002 and July last year.
The court heard how he persuaded the girl to get into a bath, wash him and commit an indecent act.
Months later Nicol made the girl watch the film he had taken as he abused her.
Defence advocate Peter Ferguson argued that Nicol had avoided a ”very traumatic” trial by pleading guilty to the charges.
The father-of-five had confessed immediately to the police and was seeking help for his ”condition”, describing himself as ‘unwell’, Mr Ferguson explained.
Lord Wheatley noted that background reports prepared for the court suggested Nicol didn’t fully understand how serious his behaviour had been.
He ordered Nicol to be kept under strict supervision for eight years following his release from prison and his name has also been put on the sex offenders’ register.
