Sex offender kept ‘disturbing’ images
A SEX offender failed to hand over internet enabled-devices when requested by police.
Blackburn magistrates heard Matthew Matthiason, 31, was jailed for that breach of a sexual harm prevention order but subsequent examination of the devices revealed “disturbing” images of children, one as young as six months, being subjected to sexual interference by adults.
And the court heard that on his latest arrest the police again seized devices which Matthiason admitted would also contain images of children.
“The images already recovered are disturbing and extreme,” said Andy Robinson, prosecuting. “He doesn’t seem able to comply with the sexual harm prevention order or stop himself from accessing these images of children.”
Matthiason, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children in Blackburn in January and breaching a sexual harm prevention order in Fleetwood in August. He was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court to be sentenced.
