Pervert pleaded guilty to a string of sex offences against 16-year-old victim
A pervert subjected a teenager to a string of horrific sex abuse, including filming an indecent act on a webcam and broadcasting the footage.
Peter McFarlane, 49, committed multiple offences against the girl over a two-year period and left her unable to trust other people.
Prosecutor Daniel Sawyer told Southampton Crown Court that the victim said her life would “never be the same” following the incidents.
A statement from the victim read out to the court by Mr Sawyer said: “How will I be able to forget?
“I cannot and I have not…I cannot trust anyone anymore.”
The statement added: “It is like living in a nightmare over and over but I’m a survivor.”
Judge Peter Henry said one incident involved an act being carried out while “there was an audience at the other end of a webcam”.
The judge added that another involved McFarlane who “manipulated the victim to go on a holiday before carrying out an act involving another woman”.
McFarlane, of April Close, Bitterne, pleaded guilty to four charges of sexual activity with a child.
He was jailed for five years and will have a notification requirement for the rest of his life.
A restraining order ensuring McFarlane does not contact the victim was ordered and he was put on the sex offenders register for life.
