Tearful pervert falls to his knees and begs for mercy

A man who arranged to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex was filmed begging for mercy after he was caught by online children protection team Guardians of the North.

Praju Prasad, 24, from North Shields in Tyne and Wear, thought he had been talking to the schoolgirl on social media, but in fact he was messaging members of a group that catch perverts grooming children

Prasad was confronted by the group, who were wielding a camera, after agreeing to meet the youngster at North Shields Metro Station.

A clip shows the pervert pleading with the men to ‘leave him alone’ as he breaks down onto his knees.

This week Prasad was handed a nine-month suspended sentence after admitting attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 after grooming.

He was also handed a £140 fine and ordered to sign the sex offenders register for five years.

Prasad had originally attempted to book a hotel for himself and the ‘girl’, but was told that nowhere would accommodate a man and a child.

It was then that he agreed to meet the girl at the Metro station.

In sordid messages, he said that he wanted to ‘kiss’ and ‘fulfill’ the child and suggested they ‘take a room’ and ‘have some fun’.

During the Guardians of the North clip, he is told: ‘You are here to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex.’

He replies: ‘Please, leave me alone. Please, I beg you. Please, I beg you.’

Speaking after the case a member of Guardians of the North said: ‘This highlights the important work that we do.

‘If this man hadn’t been caught by us then he could well have gone on to abuse an actual child.

‘We are not happy with the sentence. We believe that judges need to be tougher as this kind of offending needs to be stamped out before more serious crimes are committed.’
