Hinckley pervert avoids prison
Repeat paedophile James Dell is facing eight and a half years behind bars after admitting a series of child sex offences.
The man, from Flamville Road in Burbage, was sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on Monday.
He was also put on a barring list and a sexual harm prevention order was made against him.
He had pleaded guilty in September to four counts of gross indecency with a child under 14 and indecent assault on a female but sentencing was adjourned due to a co-defendant, Carl Hedgecock, (pictured) denying the same charges.
Carl Hedgecock, 28 from Stockwell Head, Hinckley, was given a 12 month community order with supervision for 12 months and will be put on the sex offenders list. He was convicted on September 21 of one offence of indecent assault against a girl following a trial.
This is not the first time Dell has been in trouble with the law over child sex abuse crimes.
In November 2012, aged 60, he was jailed by a judge at Leicester Crown Court for eight months, banned from working with children and placed on the sex offender register for 10 years after pleading guilty to 10 counts of making indecent images of a child and two of possessing extreme pornography involving an animal.
The alarm was raised when some ‘disturbing’ photos were found by a teenage girl who had been given Dell’s secondhand laptop for her birthday.
A search by police at his home revealed computers and memory sticks containing hundreds of indecent images.
