Nine years for sex attacks on girl, 12
The motehr of a girl sexually abused by a paedophile has spoken of her six months of hell.
Ian Wilson (38), of Longthorpe, Peterborough, was jailed for nine years by Peterborough Crown Court yesterday after a campaign of abuse against a girl. when she was 12
Wilson not only sexually assaulted the girl on a number of occasions over several months but also took indecent images of the girl and forced her to take naked pictures of him.
The court heard that when police raided his home and examined his computer, they also found more than 15,000 other photographs and videos of child sexual abuse
Wilson sat with his head bowed as he was sentenced by Judge Sean Enright for:
Three counts of sexual assault
One count of causing or inciting a girl aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity
Two counts of making indecent images of children
Two counts of possession of indecent images of children
One count of serious sexual assault of a child.
The mother of the child, who broke down in tears during the hearing, said she would never forgive Wilson.
Speaking after the hearing, she said: “I don’t think nine years is long enough. I think it should have been much longer. “Since my daughter reported the offences, I have been through every emotion possible. It has been sheer hell.
“Because she is so young, she doesn’t really understand what has been going on. But he has ruined her life. “Hopefully, this will provide closure and we will be able to move on.”
Peter Dahlson, prosecuting, said that the offences came to light after the girl confided with a school teacher about the abuse.
He said: “She told police that Wilson had asked her to take photographs of him while he was naked. “She also said that while she was being sexually assaulted, she asked Wilson to stop – and sometimes he did, sometimes he didn’t. “
In police interview he gave a prepared statement denying all the offences.” However, he pleaded guilty to all the offences at a court hearing in April
