Child rapist sentenced for abusing two girls
A sex offender has been sentenced after he was found guilty of serious sexual offences against two schoolgirls
William Rushbrook, 28 from Kilbirnie appeared at Glasgow High Court where he was found guilty of the rape and attempted rape of two girls
The court heard that on a date in June 2007, at a property in Dalry, Rushbrook attempted the rape of a sleeping 13-year-old female child.
The child woke to find him, taking off her trousers and underwear. Rushbrook then attempted to have sexual intercourse with the girl who managed to struggle enough to make him stop.
On a separate date in 2007 in Dalry, Rushbrook again attacked the sleeping child. On this occasion, he removed her underwear and penetrated her with his fingers
The rape charge relates to an incident in December 2009 which was also committed in Dalry
The court was told that Rushbrook pinned a 13-year-old girl to a wall. He forcefully removed her trousers and underwear and despite her cries for help, did go onto violently rape the girl.
Rushbrook was sentenced to a total of 10 years, of which six years must be served in prison and the remaining four years on licence.
He was also told that he must register as a sex offender for life
