Domestic abuser jailed

A man has been jailed after committing a campaign of domestic abuse in the Lothians and Scottish Borders.

Shane Ramsay was found guilty of two rapes and three assaults following a trial at Edinburgh High Court and has today, Monday 3rd July, been sentenced to nine years in prison.

Ramsay’s conviction follows an investigation by Police Scotland’s Domestic Abuse Taskforce after reports of his offending were received in 2016.

The 21 year old committed the offences in Gorebridge and Hawick over a six year period.
