Pervert that groomed & abducted schoolgirl for sex avoids prison
A man that groomed and then abducted a 14-year-old schoolgirl for sex has avoided a prison sentence
Louis Whitehead, 19 of Shotton appeared at Durham Crown Court where he admitted to the offences of abducting a child and meeting a child following sexual grooming
The court was told that Whitehead had targeted the girl for her vulnerability.
Whitehead was fully aware of the girl’s age, as he had seen her numerous times in her school uniform.
A harbouring notice was originally placed on Whitehead, which was quickly followed by an harassment order. Both orders were breached almost immediately.
Police believe Whitehead had groomed other young female victims, and are appealing for them to come forward to make statements.
For the offence of abducting a child, Whitehead received three months detention in a young offenders institute
For the offence of meeting a child following sexual grooming he received 302 days detention in a young offenders institute – concurrent.
However, both sentences were suspended for 12 months with a condition to attend a 10 day rehabilitation activity course.
He was also placed on the sex offenders register
