Woman jailed for having sex with vulnerable autistic boy, 15
A mother has been jailed for having sex with a 15-year-old autistic boy who she plied with cannabis and vodka.
Lindsey Taylor took advantage of the vulnerable boy who had taken refuge at her home in Exeter after a bust up with his family.
She climbed on top of him as he lay on her sofa and coaxed him into having full unprotected sex with her. He was so disturbed by the experience he went missing the next day and Taylor called his mother to admit what she had done.
Taylor, of Tristan Close, Exeter, admitted sexual activity with a child and was jailed for two years by Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, at Exeter Crown Court.
He ordered her to sign on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and also made a Sexual Harm Prevention Order restricting her contact with male children.
He told her: “You are 42 and in August last year you engaged in sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old boy. He was a child with difficulties, as you knew. However this came about, this was very, very wrong and you must have known that. It happened after you had been drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis with him, and these are obvious aggravating factors.
“What you did caused untold damage. I have read the victim impact statement from the boy’s mother and understandably she feels sick about it.”
Rachel Drake, prosecuting, said the offence came to light because the boy went missing from Taylor’s home the day after she had sex with him. She contacted his mother and told him what she had done, and she called in the police.
The boy had behavioural problems which led him to leave home for a short time after a row with his family. She said Taylor and the boy had been smoking cannabis and drinking Budweiser beer and shots of vodka and coke before she started touching him.
She said:”He said she touched him under his jeans and licked his nipples. He asked her to stop but she had taken off his top and also took off her top. He effectively lost control because she was touching and rubbing him. She got on top of him, riding him on the sofa. The following day she said they should do it again some time.”
Miss Drake said the boy had not made a victim impact statement but had been diagnosed as being on the autistic scale after the incident.
Mother, 41, who had sex with a 15-year-old boy over a two-week period
A 41-year-old mother had sex with a autistic teenage boy she plied with alcohol and cannabis, a court heard.
Lindsey Taylor pleaded guilty to having sexual activity with the 15-year-old boy in Exeter, Devon, over a period of two weeks in August last year.
Exeter Crown Court heard Taylor provided the funds for the teenager, who is 26 years her junior, to buy cannabis which they smoked together.
Judge Geoffrey Mercer QC said: ‘This was a 41-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy at the time.
‘Drink had been drunk and cannabis had been smoked.’
Taylor was due to be sentenced today but the judge said he did not have information about the impact on the victim which left him ‘just guessing’.
The court heard the teenager did not want to make a victim impact statement but his mother said he was ‘quieter’ now.
Judge Mercer said: ‘I am having great difficult assessing the impact on what happened on the complainant.’
The judge said Taylor could have faced up to three and a half years in jail had the case gone to a trial.
Taylor was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ register.
She was bailed and will be sentenced next week.
