Married man snared by internet paedophile hunter
A pervert aged 34 was snared by an internet paedophile hunter when he arranged to meet up with a girl of 14, Bradford Crown Court heard today.
Waseem Ayub, of Southampton Street, Wapping, Bradford, was fooled by a woman into thinking he was chatting to a child on Facebook and WhatsApp.
He pretended to be 16 and asked the “girl” what she wore in bed and questioned her about her underwear.
Ayub pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child following grooming.
Ayub was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with a 90 day rehabilitation activity requirement and a three month curfew order.
Judge David Hatton QC made a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered Ayub to sign on the sex offenders’ register for ten years.
“You lied about your age and it’s transparently the case that you had only one motive,” the judge said.
