Retired plumber spared jail over indecent images
A retired plumbing engineer has been spared jail over having thousands of images of children on a computer disk.
Gary Woodward, 62, of Lowmoor Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent photos of children in all three categories – from the most serious to the lowest level.
Nottingham Crown Court heard he had a total of 3,700 videos and still images.
He also admitted possessing prohibited images of a child and an extreme pornographic image.
Recorder Nicholas Syfret QC imposed a total sentence of 16 months in prison, suspended for two years, and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
And he ordered that Woodward complete 25 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement through probation.
