Ullapool teenager downloaded nearly 300 indecent images of children
A 19-year-old Ullapool youth has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work for downloading almost 300 indecent images of children.
Sheriff Margaret Neilson heard that Lewis Paterson, of Morefield Place, who pleaded guilty yesterday to the offence which occurred between July 2014 and February 2015 at his home, was aged 16 at the time of the offence.
And his solicitor Alison Foggo told Sheriff Neilson she had the discretion not to place him on the SOR
Sentence had been deferred for psychiatric and criminal justice social work reports
At an earlier hearing the court was told police received intelligence that the images had been downloaded to devices at Paterson’s address, 38 of them at the highest end of the obscenity scale.
