Derby rapist admits five more crimes, including making indecent photographs of a child
A serial sex attacker from Derby has admitted five more crimes – including making indecent photographs of a child.
Ilija High, from Chaddesden, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of a child. The 23-year-old also admitted possessing a prohibited image of a child and possessing extreme pornographic images.
Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court heard the crimes all happened in High’s Autumn Grove address. High appeared at the court via videolink. He wore a grey jumper and had short, black hair and a goatee beard.
High previously admitted a string of sex attacks in Spondon and Darley Abbey – he pleaded guilty to seven sexual offences against three victims when he appeared before Derby Crown Court on April 18.
The attacks happened on September 27, 2014, in Spondon, September 7, 2015, at Darley Abbey and December 22, 2015 in Spondon.
In April, he pleaded guilty to attempt to rape on September 27, 2014, committing a serious sexual assault, attempting to rape and three counts of rape on September 7, 2015, and attempt to rape on December 22, 2015.
After his conviction on April 18, the man who led the hunt for the serial rapist, Det Insp Emlyn Richards, said he believed it was possible High committed more offences. He said: “There are a number of historical sex crimes that we continue to review and there are a number of reported incidents that we are assessing.
“It’s a possibility he has attacked more women. Please, if you were one of them, come forward.
High will appear at Derby Crown Court next week on Friday, June 23, for sentence in connection with all of the offences.
