Online child protection team catch Farnham man by posing as children

A Farnham man is in jail after an online child protection team tricked him into meeting them.

He had turned up to meet what he thought was an 11-year-old girl and was found with condoms and a knife.

24-year-old Andy Field made contact with two Facebook profiles, posing as 11-year-old girls.

Field asked one ‘girl’ for pictures of her privates. He also sent a photo his erect penis.

Field asked sexual questions about oral sex and whether the girls had lost their virginities

He suggested taking their virginities in a nearby wooded area and said they could sleep around but “if anyone should ask they should say they were 17 or 18”.

After grooming them online, he suggested meeting them at Farnham Train Station.

When he arrived he was met by two members of the public, who had set up the profiles.

They called the police and Field was arrested.

Police searched him at the scene and found the condoms and the 12cm knife.

He has been sentenced to three years each for two counts of attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 following grooming.

He will also serve another year for possession of a bladed article in a public place.

On his release he will be subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
