Leek pervert, 79, jailed for sex assaults on schoolgirls
Pervert pensioner Paul Rose has been jailed after he indecently assaulted two schoolgirls.
The 79-year-old rubbed himself against his first victim and abused the second girl by touching her intimately and making her touch him.
He also kissed both youngsters on the lips.
The defendant, of Westwood Park Drive, Leek, told one of the girls she would get into trouble if she told anyone.
The victims – who have been severely affected by the abuse – reported the offences when they became adults.
Now Rose has been jailed for two-and-a-half years at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
Prosecutor Paul Spratt said the defendant rubbed himself against his first victim and kissed her on the mouth. He indecently touched his second victim.
Mr Spratt said: “She thought he was asking her to have sex.”
When she became an adult she challenged the pensioner and recorded his answers where he made some admissions.
One victim read a statement to the court in which she said she feels insecure and worthless as a result of his offending.
Rose, who has no previous convictions, pleaded guilty to six offences of indecent assault and three offences of indecency with a child.
Judge Paul Glenn said the offences were so serious only immediate custody could be justified. However, he reduced the term significantly because of the defendant’s age and medical condition.
Judge Glenn said: “I reject any suggestion you were not sexually attracted to these children.
“There is no evidence you have behaved inappropriately since.”
Rose will be on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and was barred from a range of activities involving children and vulnerable adults.
Perverted pensioner admits some offences
Pensioner Paul Rose, of Westwood Park Drive, Leek, has pleaded guilty to four charges of indecent assault and three offences of indecency with a child.
But the 78-year-old denied three offences of indecent assault. The case was adjourned so the prosecution can consider the pleas.
Rose will return to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on July 12.
He was placed on the sex offenders’ register and bailed.
