Downham Market teacher sentenced for sex offences against pupil

A married teacher who sent indecent videos of herself to a male pupil has walked free from court after being given a four-month suspended sentence

27-year-old Emily Tatra of Stafford Avenue, Norwich was charged with inciting a child into sexual activity and causing a child to watch a sexual act.

The offences took place whilst she was a teacher at Downham Market Academy in 2016 against one pupil.

She pleaded guilty to the second offence, and has been sentenced to four months imprisonment suspended for two years, 250 hours of unpaid work and 35 days of rehabilitation.

At a Norwich Crown Court appearance in May, Tatra admitted abusing her position of trust by causing a boy aged 13 to 17 to watch a sexual act

Norwich Crown Court heard how Tatra sent the boy around 30 indecent images of herself and 15 indecent videos on the social media platform.

Some of the videos showed her pleasuring herself in March last year when Tatra was known as Miss Scott before she got married.

Tatra denied abuse of position of trust by inciting a child into sexual activity, which the court ordered to lie on file.

Tatra abused her position of trust as a teacher to carry out sex offences on a boy purely for her own gratification.
