Jail for disabled sex pest
A DISABLED man who exposed himself to two young children in a supermarket has been jailed.
Lee Farrell, of Langthorne Walk, Deane, exposed himself to a seven-year-old and a 12- year-old in the foyer of Morrisons supermarket in Bolton town centre in February, Preston Crown Court was told.
Farrell, aged 40, was at the end of a three-year community order for a similar offence, which took place in a car park on Park View Road in Deane in 2008.
Judge Heather Lloyd, who branded Farrell’s actions “lewd and disgusting”, yesterday jailed him for 18 weeks.
She said: “You deliberately exposed yourself to those two young children in a busy shopping area.
“You had spied them and had been looking at them for some time.
“Though there was no physical contact, the offence obviously caused them alarm and distress.”
On February 10, a girl and a boy saw farrell exposing himself in Morrisons.
The girl ran to her mum and Farrell was pointed out.
He claimed he had been to the toilet, was readjusting his clothing and the children had misconstrued what happened.
The court heard Farrell had two previous cautions for exposure.
Farrell will be on the Sex Offender Register for seven years, has been banned from working with children for five years and will be subject to a sexual offences prevention order for five years.
