Serial Sex Offender Is Put Behind Bars

A Hapton man who admitted to being a serial sex offender has been jailed for nearly three years.

Ian Stuart Stirzaker, of Mill Hill Lane, pleaded guilty to five counts of indecent assault committed on two young victims between 1975 and 1988 and was slapped with a jail sentence of two years and nine months at Liverpool Crown Court

The court also ordered Stirzaker (55) to sign the sex offenders’ register and he was given a 10-year sex offenders’ prevention order.

He was charged with 11 counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 and two sex offences involving gross indecency involving a girl under the age of 16.

He also pleaded guilty to five sex offences before the case was due to start. He was originally scheduled to stand trial at Burnley Crown Court but his case was transferred to Liverpool.
