Leeds pervert caged after being caught by Dark Justice trying to meet a child for sex

A pervert that believed he was grooming a 13-year-old schoolgirl for sex has been jailed after he was caught by online protection team ‘Dark Justice’

John Darren Boughton, 38 of Leeds, traveled from his West Yorkshire home to Newcastle upon Tyne after logging in to a children’s chat room under the alias ‘! perv uk m’ and sending a string of sexually explicit messages to who he believed was a 13-year-old girl.

Infact the ‘child’ was an undercover decoy from Dark Justice

Boughton went on to ask the ‘child’, if she was a virgin and if she would of have sex with him.

A meeting was arranged.

Boughton arrived in Newcastle in the early hours of the morning. He made his way to an estate which he believed the “girl” resided at, but unbeknown to him Dark Justice were waiting to confront him with their evidence.

When he arrived, Dark Justice greeted him and explained who they were and why they were there.

Dark Justice then rang the police. With the knowledge of knowing the police would arrest him, Boughton made a run for it.

A member of Dark Justice pursued him on foot back to his car where he noted his registration plate down and passed it to the police

The car pinged an ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) and he was arrested near the MetroCentre, Gateshead.

The online grooming took place between 28th – 30th October 2016

Boughton was charged with attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming, to which he pleaded guilty

Boughton was handed a 16 month prison sentence

He was ordered to abide by a sexual harm prevention order and was told that he must sign the sex offenders register for a period of 10 years.
