Evil brothers locked up for terrifying sex abuse campaign
Three brothers have been jailed after they subjected a child to a horrific campaign of sexual abuse more than 30 years ago.
Evil Lee Annable, 47, (pictured) carried out most of the abuse by raping the girl twice and indecently assaulting her.
While his older brothers Roy, 59, and David, 64, were also convicted of indecently assaulting the same victim.
A court heard the girl, who cannot be named, had suffered “significant psychological harm” as a result of the abuse.
Lee Annable, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs., was found guilty of two counts of rape and five charges of indecent assault following a trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
He was jailed for six-and-a-half years but the judge said his sentence had been reduced by half because he was a juvenile when the offences took place.
David Annable, of Trent Vale, Staffs, was caged for two years after the jury convicted him of two counts of indecent assault.
The third brother Roy Annable, of Clayton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, was jailed for 18 months after he was found guilty of a single charge of indecent assault.
Judge David Fletcher said: “It’s quite clear to me that the victim has been severely affected by her childhood experiences.
“No child of any age should ever go through the sort of trauma and pain she went through.”
Judge Fletcher also imposed Sexual Harm Prevention Orders on all three brothers banning them from having contact with females under 16, except in certain circumstances.
David Annable and Roy Annable will be on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years, while Lee Annable will be on the register for life.
The court heard the victim had a history or self-harm because of the abuse and has made several suicide attempts.
In a statement read out by prosecutor Benjamin Lawrence, she said: “I am still discovering all the ways my abuse is affecting me.
“I’m very wary of people, I have no trust in people and my mental health issues affect my life every day.
“I have a history of self-harm because I felt I was to blame (for the abuse), so I should be punished. I have had several suicide attempts.
“I am a prisoner and I have done nothing wrong.”
The court heard Lee Annable has 28 previous convictions for 52 offences, mostly for drugs and shoplifting offences.
