Rapist sentenced for horrendous sexual abuse of two females
A remorseless rapist has been jailed after he was found guilty of a string of vile sexual offences against a female child and a woman.
Alexander Baines, 32 of Westcliff-On-Sea, but originally from Ilford was found guilty at Snaresbrook Court of:
Nine counts of rape and sexual assault of which five counts were against a child aged under 13-years old
Baines who recently worked as a manager at a Toby Carvery sexually abused the child over an eight year period beginning when she was nine years old.
The second victim who gave evidence against Baines was an adult when the abuse was carried out. She was also raped and abused over a number of years.
Baines maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings which forced the victims to relive the abuse they had suffered when they gave evidence at the trial.
The jury reached their verdicts in under three hours. Baines was found guilty of nine of the 11 charges he had faced.
When Judge Louise Kamill sentenced Baines, she read out each individual charge and the sentence attached which would of made an overall sentence of 42 & half years.
However, the judge allowed the sentences to run concurrently, which resulted in a total prison sentence of 14 years.
Judge Kamill told Baines that he was a manipulative controlling man who exercised that control at every available opportunity.
Baines showed absolutely no remorse throughout the trial.
He was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for the rest of his life, and will remain on the sex offenders register until the day he dies.
