Judge spares ‘lonely’ Anglesey man jail

A “lonely” Anglesey man caught with more than 200 indecent images of children has walked free from court.

Judge Niclas Parry sitting at Caernarfon Crown Court said Gordon Turner, 60, of Lon y Gamfa, Menai Bridge, had been a hardworking man suffering from stress related to the illness of his wife.

There were a dozen images of the most serious category.

The judge gave Turner an eight-month suspended jail term, suspended for two years with rehabilitation.

A sexual harm prevention order was made and Turner must register as a sex offender.

He admitted three offences of making indecent images.

Brett Williamson, prosecuting, said Turner had given police his username and password for a laptop when his home was searched last December.

The defendant had an interest in online chat forums, the court heard last week.

One image featured a girl of ten being abused.
