Paedophile fiddles phone as he beats jail for abusing 7-year-old

A paedophile was seen casually playing with his phone in the dock as he dodged jail for sexually assaulting a child.

26-year-old Sean Mulcaire’s phone couldn’t be seen by Judge Gerald Keys as he handed down the sentence at Ennis Circuit Court.

Perverted Mulcaire pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in her home as she read a story to him on November 29th 2014.

The little girl told her brother after he found her crying and the authorities were promptly informed.

When arrested Mulcaire denied sexually assaulting the child and denied sending a text to the girl’s mother following the incident.

“Sorry, I need to have a chat with you as soon as possible; Happy Christmas; Happy New Year; I’m sorry for all the problems I’ve caused, is there any chance you will forgive me, if not that’s okay,” read the message.

The girl, who was removed from school for some time and still attends counselling, had her victim impact statement read out in court.

“I always had a feeling about him, my blood would run cold. It was like I knew what he was going to do to me.

“I was very worried if he would be able to do this to other children. I’m very happy that he was caught and didn’t get away with it.”
